Hi,

this will be my 2nd baby. When I was pregnant with ds1 I shared an office with a lovely colleague who was in on the secret from week 7 and who covered for me when I had to nip out for a bacon sandwich etc!
However, we have now all moved into a big open plan office where the whole unit is in together. I am worried about eagle eyed colleagues spotting what is going on before I'm ready to go public.
Please give me your tips on what I can do to try and keep my secret to myself until I've had my scan!
Thanks,

Gillian.

Take a stash of sweets/ snacks/ fruit/ biscuit in with you and put them somewhere out of sight. I have found that people notice less if you are eating something you take out discretely vs. getting up constantly to get snacks.

Take in herbal tea bags/ squash/ water - it is the new year so you can say you are on a caffiene detox to excuse the saying no to teas and coffees (that is of course if you normally drink tea and coffee and are planning on cutting back from your normal amounts)

TBH - with no. 2, I was out of my lovely tight fitting clothes by 7 weeks and into floaty clothes. Men never notice anything. So when I announced pregnancy no. 2 it was news to all the men. All the women had already guessed! But had been good enough to stay schtum/ not say anything to me anyway! They had all discussed it behind my back of course!

I have to tell work tomorrow as will be 25 weeks! This is my third! Also in open plan office. All men and I am positive they haven't guessed - last few weeks before xmas wore work blouses that are quite loose with skirt suits instead of usual trousers.

When I was nauseous early on I had a drawer full of snacks - all stuff that doesn't smell - mainly rice cakes, rivita and digestive biscuits, just nibbed them all day. Also had herbal tea bags "for a change" they never said anything. You can always pop out to the "post office" if you need to buy something to eat.
