Just over 25 weeks and on second day of horrible cold. Got a terrible headache, itchy sore throat and ears, bit of a cough, achy all over and a very runny nose haha.
Ive been taking some paracetomol when my head hurts too much but other than that im trying to ride it out without having to go to the doctors.
I dont work so at least i can curl up at home all week but is there anything i can take to help?
Does my baby get ill when im ill or is he always ok?

The baby will be fine and well nourished, don't worry about that. That's why you feel worse when ill whilst pregnant, your body protects the baby first.

A cold is a virus so you can't do anything about it and neither can a doctor. All you can do is alleviate the symptoms. Paracetamol is obviously fine for the aches and pains but warm lemon and honey drinks, steam, olbas oil etc for all of the myriad symptoms that seem to accompany the damn things. Plenty of fluids and take it easy.

Paracetamol is pretty much your arsenal of OTC drugs whilst pregnant.

Homemade hot lemon and honey drinks are baby-safe and do help... not as much as a proper Lemsip, but sadly they're not recommended!

I have to admit I do have Lemsip when I am ill. But only when really suffering. Only the basic one as well, not the max strength one.

I only have one a day when I really need it.

Just make sure you dont take paracetamol at the same time.
