12 week scan, worrying myself sick.

Ive got my 12 week scan next Tues and i am just so so worried about it.

I keep thinking they will give me terrible news, ive had near to no symptoms at all and really worried i lost the baby weeks ago and i just dont know it.

Please can someone reassure me, has someone else had no symptoms but received good news at the scan?

Good luck for tomorrow Tishtosh, don't forget to let us know how it went - I've never met anyone who the sonographer told it was all in their head!

Hello everyone who has been on this thread. Im happy to tell you the scan went v well, we saw its heart beating and everything looked ok. Will put a pic on tonight when DP is home and sets up the scanner.

SO SO SO relieved!

The worry never goes away. Thankfully, the brilliant feeling of relief doesn't either!

How did everyone get on? Got mine on the 19th seems ages away!! Had a scan at ten weeks and they could see heart beat and said all normal but scared about getting too excited, keep worrying that something could happen in between.

hi there.. i understand how you feel too hun.. i have my scan in 9 days.. mw said i'll be 12 wks now so 13/14 wks by the time we get ours.. anxious as had a bad mc 6yrs ago today.. so because that was so traumatic i now am terrified its goin to happen again. i have had DD whos 3 after what happened and i had the same reaction with her.. i'm terrified i goin to hear the words i'm sorry again and tryin desperately to keep my chin up.. dont help with the hormones hey.. i'm sure it will be good news for everyone just keep smiling and be positive.. (not like i'm suceeding atm)
i suffer from nightmares which dont help me..
i do have really bad symptems tho ie hyperemesis so my fear is not eating may have damaged her/his growth.. 9 days till my mind at rest

Great news, glad it went so well. And what a lovely scan photo! It's amazing how much you can see at that stage, isn't it?

Yeah theres so much detail for something so small! It looks like it should be a full term baby size but its only the size of a plum.

I love the scan pics I cant stop looking at them!

you never will stop lookin at the pics either lol.. my son is 8 in 2 weeks n i still remember his pics as imprinted in my head now i looked at them so much.. plus they always to hand lol... my EDD is the 23rd dependin on scan a week 2mo... nervous n excited lol again congrats hun

So glad everything was OK TishTosh. I was exactly the same with both of my 12 week scans - even worse with the second interestingly, even though my nausea was much worse than with my first baby and there really was no doubt! I'm 16 weeks now (overdue for an antenatal appointment as we're snowed in) and, if I'm honest, putting off the appt because I'm terrified they won't find a heartbeat. Pregnancy is one big neurotic rollercoaster for me, and for many others by the sounds of it. I hope all continues to go well for you. xx

Have you not had a scan yet to find the heartbeat then gaelic?

My EDD is 18th July moved from 14th.

Yes I have, but a lot can happen in 4 weeks (paranoid you see).

The scan was really scary actually. The person doing the scan was a doctor who was training in ultrasound and it felt like a lifetime before she actually found the baby. The longest few minutes of my life, for sure.

Oh i see, well they say if the heartbeat has been found the chances of anything bad happening go right down to something like 1% so im sure everything wil be fine for you

i'm approx 12/13wks havent heard any heart beat or anything yet so i'm nervous!! the only way i know i still preg is the bein sick lol..
my edd is approx 23rd july but not 100% till the scan but already i have a belly.. size 8 to size 12 in less than 2months so dreading they gonna say its twins after last time

roll on the next week and they tell us good news..
so dreading the blood tests tho Aarrgghh lol

Wow that is quite an increase in clothes size! Ive just got slightly podgier around the middle but not really showing yet.

What happened last time if you dont mind my asking?

I didnt find the blood tests too bad and the lady chatted to me the whole time which took my mind off what she was actually doing.

afternoon...

6 yrs ago yesterday i had a bad MC.. lost them at 12 weeks.. the madness was when i MC they sent my baby off for an autopsy n found they were siamese twins joined at the head.. i reacted very badly to this.. if wasnt for the fact i had my son id of nearlly gave up living.. i have terrible nightmares its goin to happen again. i didnt have a scan you see cuz i was only 12 weeks at christmas time when it happened. MC was more painfull than my 2 labours with my angels.. even tho i have had kezia since dont change how i feel
they said it would be very unlikely it'll happen again but still terrified..
only have fears about blood tests bcuz i'm severlly needle phobic.. have been for over 10yrs now lol... silly isnt it...

and yep i blaitantly look preg now.. even if i dont keep much food down... have hyperemesis too... hope it stops soon :0)

Oh my goodness Jane Im really sorry for what you went through that must have been heartbreaking.

Ill pray that yours and my pregnancies are plain sailing.

My sister is needle phobic too, thats one of the first things she said about the scan was how did the blood test go lol.

I want to look pregnant! I just look podgy round the middle/thighs/bum. Hopefully will even out in a couple of weeks and will start to look more pregnant. I was put back a few days on the scan so ill be 13 weeks tomorrow.

yeah it was heartbreakin as when i did finally MC i saw them which has haunted me for the past 6yrs. but i'll get thru that as i do every yr. wont get easier.. so i know how u felt bout bein scared bout ur scan.. mines only 4 days away.. n i'm terrified. should be ok after the scan tho once i know all is ok.
yh hun i'll pray ours goes really well. is this your 1st?

and trust me lol you'll start showing more soon i am normally skinny so its either alot of water(unless it is 2 then i'm crying lol)

just wait till ur huge n waddle lol

so happy ur scan went really well... u findinout the sex? kieran my ds want a brother n kezia my dd wants a sister so gonna wait we're not findin out.. keeping it a surprise lol..

Oh Hun how sad I think something like that would stay with me forever too.

Yeah this is my first so everything new and exciting but at the same time scared about everything! My 20 week scan is on 2nd march and we want to know the sex I would prefer a girl but really as long as it's healthy I don't mind.

I'm normally quite skinny too so I thought I'd show early on but nothing yet although I'll be moaning a few months down the line about not being able to get off the sofa without a shoe horn!

What times your scan on mon?

I had hardly any symptons at all, except for no AF and extreme tiredness. I swear I did not believe I was PG til I saw ickle dd on the screen at the 12 wk scan. Then I blubbed. You will be fine! I am

tishtosh i get effected every yr so christmas is hard but when i have my DD sat there with her presents saying 'this is doin ma head in' makes me chuckle. My 2 DC keep me smiling xx my scan isnt till thurs think i gettin days muddled up lol.. its 12pm on thurs but bloods wed and thurs so nervous bout that too lol.. with my DS i showed early but my DD wasnt as big.. he was 7.8 ouch n she was 6.3 so much easier.
the only pain is tryin to sleep when u get bigger n mashing potatoes was such a funny thing. had to do it on the floor
your 1st is scary but u'll get thru it. the way i got thru labour is gettin it in2 my head Yes it will hurt but i am a mum n will handle it.. aslong as u relax and dont panik then all will go smoothly

i have no idea when our 20wk scan will be yet.

in a way portofino i wish i didnt have symptoms lol.. being sick between 2 and 10 times a day gets on ya nerves then ya start to get anxious to eat anyway.. i am still tryin to eat tho i'm sure all will be great for all of us fingers crossed for thurs
