Had a Consultants appointment today and am so delighted he confirmed that baby has turned from breech position last night!.

Am only 36 +3 but baby has been breech all through pregnancy and hopes for turning were pretty dim so am absolutely delighted.

Anyway, he tells me baby is 3/5 engaged. Does this mean anything or am I going to go way over (again) or is there no way of telling...

(baby number 2 btw)

Thanks all!

Yay ! We're due on the same day I think (24/01) - and there were worries that mine was breech too. Positioning scan put her cephalic and I was soooooo relieved !

Oh fantastic!!! am really delighted for you - the relief is brilliant. When did you have positioning scan?

Am due 23rd (and counting..)

This just means 3 fifths of the baby's head is in the pelvis so only 2 fifths palpable (felt) above the pelvic rim - so it means engaged. It has no bearing on anything else I'm afraid - no clues as to when you will go into labour.

Good luck - hope all goes well.

Christmas Eve. As I am booked into a standalone midwife unit and really don't want to go to the local hospital (maternity is really lousy) it was a gigantic relief ! They don't take diagnosed breeches at the MLU so I would have to have gone to the DGH.

3littlefrogs - oh though as much - thanks a million though.

Fibilou, what a brilliant Christmas present!. If baby hadnt turned today a c section was going to be scheduled for me so am just over the moon!.
