Hi Ladies,

I was waondering if you could help. I'm pg again (7) weeks after losing my first pregnancy at 14 weeks.

This time around i don't seem to have hardly any symptoms and hardly any morning sickness where as last time i was really sick from 5 weeks onwards.

Is it normal for morning sickness to vary by pregnancy or should i be worried do you think?

Thanks so much!
Katie x

normal, IME.
i had very diff pregnancies

Hi Katie - sorry for your loss. I know it makes subsequent pregnancies very difficult and worrying times but I don't think you need to panic.

I had no symptoms with DS1 until I threw up on a bus in Oxford st one day - slightly reminiscent of my pregnancy with DD where I used to threw up every day of my commute into work. Turned out I was already 14 weeks pregnant.

Goodness knows how long it'd have been until I found out if it hadn't been for that particular bess journey .

Good luck

So sorry for your previous loss.

Im pg with dc2 at the mo and it is so very different even though its another girl.

Could you see if you could have an early scan to put your mind at rest?

Amapoleon · 30/12/2009 11:12

I had no symptoms with my dd and my second pregnancy with ds I was sick as a dog.

Good luck!

When I was preganant with my daughter I never felt sick. Not one time. With my son, I didn't leave the house for three months. I could barely stand up without being sick. Every pregnacy is diffrent. I had several miscarriages between the two , so I understand why you are so worried. Try to relax. Are they giving you an early scan?

katiecubs · 30/12/2009 11:36

Thanks so much girls for your help! I've actually got a scan at 4pm (got myself into a bit of a panic so they agreed to have me in today). Funnily enough though this morning i was sick! sods law i guess but am obvisouly still nervous. If you could keep your fingers crossed for me it would be much appreciated xxx

Good luck, let us know how you get on

peppapighastakenovermylife · 30/12/2009 12:06

I am sorry to hear about your baby - that is good they are scanning you - let us know .

I had very different pregnancies. I was sick in both but do get hyperemesis but even then the sickness was different if that makes any sense. Lots of different things - could eat different foods / hated certain foods different with both. With DD my skin and hair went dry, with DS greasy. With DS I slept a lot, with DD not so much.

Different pregnancies are different - they are different babies after all. Although sickness can be a good sign I know of many many healthy happy pregnancies when it is not. Some people are sicker with one sex and not the other.

addictedtofrazzles · 30/12/2009 12:41

I wasn't able to eat anything with DS. The thought of food turned my stomach. With this pregnancy I have been hungry ALL the time and eaten enormous amounts...I am having another boy!

I never believed that pregnancy's could be different but I have proved to myself that they are!

Good luck with the scan

MandaHugNKiss · 30/12/2009 14:06

With my first pregnancy, I was so sick I was two STONE less than my prepregnancy weight the day after I gave birth to her! With ds, I had just one fleeting moment of nausea on a bus.

This time, (another boy) I was nauseous from about 7-14/15 weeks.

Each pregnancy really can be very different and all be absolutely fine! It's understandable you're nervous after a loss (so sorry )- hope your scan goes well today!

mama2moo · 30/12/2009 18:20

How did you get on?

katiecubs · 30/12/2009 18:21

Thanks so much for your support ladies - i really appreciate you taking the time out to reply

Just got back from my scan and it was good news - everything looked fine and there was a good heartbeat. They dated me at 7+2. I'm so relieved, i know i still have a long way to go but at least i can relax a bit for now.

I guess it goes to show that every pregnancy can indeed be differant and i should just thank my lucky stars i am feeling better this time around. Thanks again xxx

Hi katiecubs, just checking to see how things were going with you and imagine my delight to see that you're pregnant again and that everything seems to be fine. So pleased for you! (For what it's worth, I was less sick with my DSs than with my DD.)
