How much roughly would it be to get a private scan done, does anyone know? I live in NE Wales

I know it shouldn't matter and it doesn't really but would really like to know what sex it is as we have bedrooms to rearrange etc!
Thanks

It cost me £250 3+ years ago, but I think if you just want the 3D pics, it can be a lot cheaper. Google it for your local area.

I paid £75 for a sexing scan at Babybond. I was glad I had it as the NHS told me I was having a boy and they were wrong!

FiveSoloRings · 29/12/2009 02:00

There you go then! much cheaper!!!

electra · 29/12/2009 02:02

I think you pay more if you want 4D or DVD with everything on.....if you just want to know the sex and that's it, it's much cheaper yes.

FiveSoloRings · 29/12/2009 02:05

Oh mine was at Harley Street and actually, that one wasn't £250, it was less, but still more than £75

Just be aware that you still may not find out. I had an extra growth scan (NHS) at 28 weeks and still couldn't find out what it was - umbilical cord in the way.

gizzy1973 · 29/12/2009 08:31

I think we paid around 75 at babybond to find out the sex and they were fantastic - i think the reason they can tell the sex better than nhs is because they scan from underneath baby so get a better angle

You can go back to the hospital and just pay a bit extra for an additional scan (not sure how much but not as much as private) ? position of the baby can always prevent them telling, whether private or NHS

I'm in central London and have had private wellbeing scans for this pregnancy. They cost around 150 pounds and include gender. A 3D scan at 30 weeks was 250 pounds including a DVD. Wales should be a lot cheaper than London!

I have to be honest tho and say that at both my 20 week and 24 week scan the baby did not cooperate and we they couldn't tell the gender. Finally found out at the 30 week one.

With my prior 2 pregnancies the gender was identified at the 20 week scan. It all depends on how the baby is positioned.

£75 here for a basic gender scan (Scotland)

Just booked mine today at Babyscanning in Glasgow £75, am about 99.9% sure it's a girl though.

Anyone recommend anywhere in the Portsmouth area? I've found a few by googling but would prefer one someone else has used!
