Is it ok to carry on with my antenatal exercise DVD now the baby's head is engaged? Am 38 weeks. Have kept fairly fit all the way through but just wondered if I should stop now?

Babies get you fit anyway. I have lost loads of weight while BFing (and eating lots of cake too ) and I'm stronger than I've been in years, from lifting my DS all the time.

everyone keeps telling me to put my feet up but if I laze about on the sofa to long I get stuck and - then feel like a heffalump !!

Was just wondering if it was actually safe to carry on with exercising. Feels like baby's head is wedged into my left hip at the moment, not very comfy!

I did exercise right to the end both times - my sister even called midwife to ask if ok to go swimming if she had a show (and it was, and she had baby within hours of getting out of swimming pool, after brisk 60 lengths!).

Don't overdo it... and call your midwife to check?

Lazing on the sofa is not a good idea unless you are lying on your left side - because lying back encourages baby to turn into back to back position.

And sadly I put on weight breastfeeding each time am very of people who lose weight whilst feeding.

If exercising helps you relax then carry on. Otherwise put your feet up!

MumNWLondon - dont worry, I put on loads of weight with breastfeeding each time. Over two stone which came off with DS when I stopped. I have now found a great, although perhaps extreme way to lose weight whilst still breastfeeding...get pregnant again and have hyperemesis - the pounds drop off and no need to wean
