32 weeks pregnant - meningitis scare in office

I am 32 weeks tomorrow and someone in my department at work has just been diagnosed with viral meningitis. I am asking my midwife and GP about the risk to myself and the baby, but wondered if anyone else has any experience of this?

only a very vague recollection of my mother having (I think viral) meningitis when pregnant with my sister over 20 years ago. She did spend some time in hospital (iIrc) but both she and sister were completely fine.
