Christmas day baby? I think my waters might be breaking!

I have been "leaking" slightly cloudy fluid which has no colour since 6.00am this morning, a few mild cramps and a pale pink bloody show, do you think this might be it???
My due date is today, this is my first so I'm a bit clueless!!!
I never actually thought it would happen today...
If this really is it, how long might it be till contractions start?

a show is a good sign that something is happening

your contractions may or may not start today but things are moving!

How long it takes until you go into labour might vary - one friend had a show and then a baby 8 hours later. I on the other hand had a show on the wednesday and a baby on the sunday.

Thanks for the replies, still no contractions but I lost a bit of my mucus plug (sorry TMI!!!)and still leaking fluid steadily and more pale pink mucus. Hey, at least I'll get to eat some roast dinner!

Peppa, did your waters go on the Wednesday too, or did you just have the show?

Lolalotta - if your waters do properly go speak to the hospital - generally they don't like you to go more than 24 hours between waters going and giving birth because of risk of infection. not sure if leaking counts though.

It does sound like things are getting started.

Check everything is to hand and that your DP/DH knows where those things are too

My waters leaked with dd and I didnt have her until the day after that.

You should phone your labour ward though, they may want you in to monitor the baby and make sure all is ok.

They didnt go until the saturday - they went with a pop though, no leaking.

So much for crossing my legs Maybebaby, now I know what a real contraction feels like, lol! I have been to the hospital to check everything is ok, and it is, so now I am back home and contractions have actually started. Looks like it could be a Boxing day baby???

I think i have had a bit of a show this morning!

I was just saying to DH last night how you have been feeling exactly the same as me and you have started, so i can't be far behind! Then this morning i am cramping and have had a bit of a show! Maybe boxing day babies for us both! At least we made it through christmas day, you only just lol.
