Hi, I am 6/7 weeks and I can't stand any types of food {pre-pregnancy I would have thought this a bonus!}, i can only stomach bread at the moment. I'm sick about 3 times a day with constant nausea for the rest of the time. The lack of any nutrients can't be good for either of us surely? Anyone else experiencing this?

I lived on toast/ porridge for the first 3 months. Take a good pregnancy supplement and eat whatever you need to to get through the first 12-14 weeks!

Worry about nutrients later!

Baby will be fine. I had hyperemesis and was sick until 40 weeks both times before...had big bouncing healthy babies at the end

liahgenispreggerswithnumber6 · 23/12/2009 18:13

yep me too. Am 6 wks and have completely gone off food, just don't fancy anything, that's ok, except I feel starving all the time.

Porridge and mashed potato were my staples last pg, sometimes gravy, (with mash not porridge )

No throwing up yet, but constantly feeling very car/sea sick. Great isn't it?

bigpreggybelly · 23/12/2009 18:39

Oh well, at least you won't put on any weight over Christmas!

liahgenispreggerswithnumber6 · 23/12/2009 18:42

there is that preggybelly Personally will no doubt make up for it from about 16/17 wks though.

Tigresswoods · 23/12/2009 20:16

I had this for about 3 weeks, couldn't be arsed to eat anything. Didn't feel sick but just wanted to eat crakcers and bread.

Like someone says, take a supplement, it will pass. Shame on the time of your for you though

winjy · 23/12/2009 21:13

me too! im 8 weeks now...cant eat anything without wanting to sick it back up...never actually sick, just nausea all the time...never feel hungry tho which is very strange...sure it'll pass, iv been told it wont harm the baby...just me that feels like shit!! xx

2babesmum · 24/12/2009 01:01

Me too, I'm 8+5 and have lived on toast and marmalade for the last week or so. Just don't feel hungry most of the time and then I get a really strongh hunger pang seemingly out of nowhere which makes me feel sick.
Made myself a teacake today and changed my mind after one bite! And the roses which I'm dying to eat every xmas are untouched by chocoholic me. I do find that fruit and nut cereal is ok.

theminniebauble · 24/12/2009 09:38

I have been like this pretty much throughout my pregnancy.

I found that some days I managed to eat a big bowl of plainish cereal literally as soon as I opened my eyes (brought to me in bed by DH!!). This meant that I got some carbs and sugar into me before I had time to think about being sick or nauseous which helped. Didn't always work though.

The other thing is that if you have the slightest inkling that you might fancy something to eat (no matter how bizarre) get it and eat it before you have a chance to change your mind. Sounds odd but the more that I thought about anything the more ill I felt.

Thank you all, i managed porridge yesterday `and am drinking loads of milk {i never liked milk!}. 2babes - I've made 3 dinners that i have taken one look at/sniff of and haven't been able to eat! It sucks....i love food!!!

I ate carrots and drunk coke for the first 5 month of pregnancy. After that I managed to addd Malteesers to this fantastic diet!I cannot remember at what stage I started eating normaly again.

I always hated lamb but could not get enough of it when I was PG with DD4

mehgalegs · 24/12/2009 10:36

I was like this with my pgs. All i ever fancied was jacket potatoes or white bread and even that was a struggle.

Hope you feel better soon

Morloth · 24/12/2009 18:12

I have days where I don't want to eat at all and then days where I simply can't get enough. The days where I don't want to eat are the worst though because then I feel really sick and dizzy but I actually gag if I try to force something down.

The days where I want to EAT are brilliant!

29 weeks and counting...

acatcalledfidget · 26/12/2009 20:43

Well, I managed 3 roast potatoes and two yorkshire puds for xmas dinner....result!

hi,

So glad other people are feeling this way. I have two boys and couldn't eat enough with them, this time I am living on hardly anything, hubby is a little worried, I'm sure it will pass. 2babesmum, I am the same not hungry and then in a matter of seconds absultely starving, but so hungry I feel sick and can't stomach anything.

As my midwife says, it's all good signs that things are well!!

Alys xx

I've had a good few days over xmas, happens that I've been able to eat xmas dinner and pud . Not had much today, a bowl of fruit and fibre this morn and 4 toffee sweets (roses). Am now starving so may just jump on it and see if I can get a bit more down, although..... everytime I wonder what I'd like I think nah!
