I am 27 weeks and wondering if it's ok to have a glass of champagne on Christmas day. I know people generally say it's ok but think the guilt might ruin the taste!

I will be having a small glass - as I've got more pregnant I just can't drink with any gusto ! I'm coming up for 36 weeks on Saturday. I have continued drinking a small amount through pregnancy - about 1 glass of wine every fortnight when we've gone out to a do. DH usually ends up finishing them though

Does mulled wine really have less alcohol- that sounds like a great compromise!!!

The more you cook mulled wine the less alcohol it has. Alcohol has a lower boiling point than water so when the wine is not really bubbling but you can see 'steam' coming off that steam is actually the alcohol floating away.

Well, I have had my Christmas Day Baileys - just a little one and it was lovely (c: There was a rush of emotion to begin with, telling me I shouldn't drink it, but I knew it to be false, so I carried on and enjoyed it (c:

Had a glass and a half of the fizzy stuff with my dinner yesterday (I'm 32+1) and no ill effects to report - LO is still happily re-arranging my internal organs (has probably taken more offense to the enormous pile of food that crammed it's way into his/her little world yesterday).

I had a glass on Christmas Eve and a glass on Christmas Day.

Waves to FluffyCoo - I too am being kicked to bits here.

I'm 34+2 now, and for many weeks didn't touch a drop, as it made me feel sick! I've always liked my ales, but went right off them.

Have had one small drink per week, apart from the last few weeks when I've had a maximum of two units a week.
Had a small glass of rose on xmas eve and topped it right up with lemonade. Had a half of hobgoblin on boxing day.

I think it has to be a personal decision and if you're going to fret about it afterwards, better to forego it altogether.
My personal opinion is that one or two over the week is okay.

Christmas is not Christmas without Balieys! I had a mini bottle on Christmas eve and felt all festive and lovely!
Chrismas day I abstained cos I was just too full of food!
New Years eve I will probably have a couple of small glasses of vino with lemonade. The thought of actually getting drunk makes me feel really ill.
I'm 24 wks and just discovered I can SEE the baby bobbling around in my belly!
