Large babies - VBAC? Confused and scared!

Hello everyone, DD1 was 10lbs and delivered by c-section, all went well and I had a great recovery. Antenatal scans with this pregnancy have revealed I may have another large baby. Both DH and I are very tall (I'm 5ft 9in) so I am hoping my pelvis can push baby out naturally!

What's everyone else's experiences? I'm keen to go for VBAC but is there a risk baby could get stuck?

Please help! Thanks

I haven't got experience of a c-section, but DS1 was 9lb (at due date) and DS 2 was 10lb (2 weeks early!) both were delivered naturally with no problems. I am only 5ft 6/7 and average framed,(pelvis wise) I suppose.

Thanks for this Midori, I forgot to say with DD1 it was elective surgery as consultant told me she may get stuck. I'm with different hospital this time so no discussions yet regarding options. I'm 27 weeks by the way and look as though I'm ready to pop now!

Am keen to deliver naturally but just feeling worried about the risks hence keen to hear other's experiences.

I have had two big babies. One was 11lb and 4 oz, the other was just an ounze off of 10 lbs. (The third one was only 8 lbs, so a tiddler!)

TBH a c section wasn't mentioned with either. Both delivered naturally without assistance.

Ask your mw what they think.

Thanks cece, did you need stitches? Relieved to hear you had natural deliveries.

My midwife has recommended a later scan to check growth and options later. Want to be sure about all options though as felt pressurised last time even though all went well with elected csection.

No stitches with the 11lber but did have them with my 9lb 15oz and 8lb one.
