i am 36 weeks pregnant and last night started havin strong, painful, close together contractions. they were less than 10 mins apart. also had loose bowels etc. thought i was in labour but didnt want to rush to hospital to be sent home so went in the bath etc. and decided to get some sleep. been awake all night but the pain seems to have changed from regular contractions to a more constant ache all around pelvic and lower stomach and back, with the odd 'contraction' every now and again. has anybody else experienced anything like this? any advice?

No idea about this but I would call your midwife/maternity unit.

I agree with above and would have it checked out asap.

Call the hospital, I had my first dd at 36 weeks, and I'm 33 weeks pregnant with my second, I've had the same pains you describe with this one last week, because of my history I was sent to hospital for monitoring and things quietened back down and I came home, but it's better to get things checked out, I was told by the midwife for the sake of being strapped to a monitor for 20 mins it's worth checking it out, they wont think you're silly, it is very possible you could be going into early labour, at least call your midwife.
Good luck )

called the hospital. told to rest, have bath, take paracetamol etc. if it gets worse or contractions get stronger/closer to call back. so just a waiting game now! wish me luck!
