I'm only 28 weeks and feeling a bit fed up. I have no DIGNITY anymore. I get so tired at work I end up lying on the floor when the office is empty, I have to change my pants about five times a day. Just feel like a walking lump and I want to cry. But that won't do any good either.

Oh no poor you. I'm afraid my dignity departed when I had DD so I know what you're going through.

Would it cheer you up to know you're not alone? I'm 31 weeks, baby is transverse (lying across my middle) and I'm wondering if it's anything to do with my low-lying placenta. Deep joy.

Still, you're only 28 weeks so plenty of time for the baby to turn right?

GloriaInEccentrica · 18/12/2009 19:37

plenty of time for breech to turn.
ask for physio referal for leakage. don't suffer in silence.
have you got holidays to take so you can take a day off some weeks?

TheOldestCat · 18/12/2009 19:39

Also, what are you doing right now? Except for MNing? I'm off to make a hot chocolate, sit on my bouncy ball thing (I don't know if it will help the baby move into a better position, but it makes me laugh anyway) and watch something rubbish on the telly.

I advise you to do something similarly relaxing.

Ah, thank you. It does really help to know I'm not alone. THere is time for the baby to turn, but I also have a low placenta, and had a third degree tear last time, and can feel my chances of a vaginal birth flying out the window.

Can i really get physio? I mentioned the leakage to the midwife and she just told me to do pelvic floor exercises, which i do anyway.

I'm going to ask if I can use holiday to go to a three or four day week in January but I've got to get through working over Xmas and the New Year first.

TELL midwife to refer you to physio - don't ask!. Incontinence (whether pregnancy related or not) is not something anyone needs to put up with. Or go to GP and TELL them.

scrub floors. watch TV with bum in the air.

if still breech then worry about vaginal birth plans (although still an option) but no need to fret yet.

can you go off sick now? for a couple of weeks> is your emplyer understanding or nasty?

I am 30 weeks, baby is doing somersaults just now, but spending a lot of time breech. I have a heart shaped uterus, and ds was breech because he got stuck. I think this one will be the same (and was told at 20wk scan that placenta is low lying).

I also have been leaking when coughing, which was not fun when I had dh's flu and one of the worst coughs I have ever had in my life. I also leak a bit when the baby boots me in the bladder.

Are you using pads for the leakage? Might not feel so fed up if you are changing a pad rather than your pants?

I was lucky enough to be able to stop working weeks ago, and I know I would be struggling to work (childminding) and look after 4yo ds at the mo.

Have you been checked for anaemia yet? They normally take blood around now.

You will want to crown every person who says this (I did with ds!!) but there is still plenty time for it to turn.

I hope you feel a bit less fed up soon. Be gentle on yourself.

ah. thank you all. Gloria, thanks for the bolstering words - you are right - I am not putting up with incontinence for whatever reason.

I have used pads, but they still end up soaking through and make me itch - clean knickers just make me feel a lot better.

I've just had some red wine and stilton which made me feel a whole lot better.
