I'm supposed to be having my 20 week scan tomorrow

but there is 8 ins of snow forecast and the school think it's highly likely they'll be closed tomorrow - so even if I do make it there, will have three little people in tow!!!

I've been so looking forward to it and hopefully finding out what we're having (even though we aren't going to tell anyone!) and now I may not get to the hospital anyway

IS your DH/P coming with you, could he look after the children in the waiting room or hospital canteen while you have the scan. Not ideal as you'll be by yourself but at least means you can have the scan??

Thanks - DH is coming yes, so I won't be on my own completely! Am just worried about actually getting there if the roads are blocked!

I feel the BBC is prone to weather over exaggeration (sp?) It will more than likely be fine and you will have a 2mm thin coating!

Hoping you make the scan! How bad is the snow?

Scan looks to be impossible - we have about a foot of snow - would be almost impossible to get our car onto the road (it's also an automatic, so less control) and no taxis or buses are running.

I've thought about trudging to the hospital - will take over an hour, but I can't get hold of anyone there to find out if there are any staff in - so it's all a bit of a disaster!!

Sorry you can't make it. I missed my first apt for my 20 week scan due to a vomiting bug and they gave me another appt for a week later.

Problem is that it's Christmas next week and we're not around from Wednesday....may have to book a private scan at the local private hospital if I can't get another appt for next week.....

Panic - was hoping the weather might be wrong! How far along are you? I had my 20wk scan at 21+5 and they could see all they needed to. They might reschedule for between Christmas and New year if you are about.

Round here (London) they do the 20 week scan at 22/23 weeks so I think it is ok if a bit late.
I was just giggling at the thought of your 3 children finding out the sex at the scan and your chances of then keeping it secret!

Ring the main switchboard at the hospital and ask them to put you through.

Thanks everyone - I tried all day - went via the main switchboard, but they just kept putting me through to the antenatal clinic which was on answerphone and was the number I was trying anyway. I left messages but no-one answered.....really hope I can get hold of someone first thing on Monday to rearrange...

Am really upset to have missed it- just have to hope that I can get a slot sometime soon.
