High blood pressure in subsequent pregnancies

18 weeks pregnant with DC 2.

With DD I had high blood pressure and was constantly being sent to the Pregnancy unit at the hospital for monitoring after every check up but sent home after an hour of two as everything was fine and no other signs of pre eclampsia.

Anyway just had MW appointment and again have high Blood pressure. So ive now been changed to high risk and got to see a consultant. Im not overly worried though, just wondering how on earth its going to work if I keep getting sent up to the hospital again for monitoring. I have a 16mth old who will think shes in heaven if mummy's stuck to a bed and cant stop her running up and down the ward!.
We have no family nearby and DH works in London so will take him a good hour to get home and cant really keep leaving work every time.

Anyone else experienced High BP in their subsequent pregnancies and where you sent for mointoring lots? What did the consultant say?

hi, yes i also had high blood pressure and protein in my urine with my second pregnancy and had to have lots of monitoring which was a bit of a pain but luckily family looked after my toddler. I went on to have a normal birth, healthy baby and blood pressure back to normal, i wasn't diagnosed with preclampsia but i was a bit worried at the time, although going for monitoring was sometimes inconvenient it was also reassuring

Hi I had high blood pressure with dd1, like you say up & down to hospital all the time

with ds I was totally fine

then with dd2 had the occasional high bp, but I put that down to them constantly worrying me about her being small for her dates, but it defienitely wasn't like dd1

so there is hope
