Nearly 3 weeks late, did a test last Thursday but negative. Not having huge amount of symptoms, although tired/sleeping a lot more than normal, increased skin sensitivity and appetite.

Couldn't be a worse time in life for this to happen if I am. Other half supportive, but only been together 6 months and agrees re situation. Very scared of finding out it's true, but would never terminate.

Not sure what to do next.

you need to take another test, if only to put your mind at rest.....good luck hope you get the result you want

catbus · 15/12/2009 14:10

Take another test in a few days; so many of them can give false negatives. There again, you could just be late due to diet/stress/being female..

westlondongirl · 15/12/2009 15:04

Take another test and if it is still negative then go and see the GP to find out what't going on. Good luck

Are you taking the pill? If not do you know if you definately ovulated? If you didn't could just be delayed period due to stress/diet/anything else random.

If you were using contraception and test says no then very unlikely you are pregnant.

For the record, with DS3, I was over a month late and sat at my Docs' desk before I got a + result.

I had done Tesco tests when period a few days late, then a few weeks, then a month - all neg.
Though period was late due to rapid weight loss.

Went to Doc when second period didn't come and he said I was preg, then tested me and Lo and behold, I was.

Thought* period was late due to....

JillyWillyPops · 15/12/2009 23:05

I was the same as ladyoftheflowers. Was 5 weeks late and about 10 negative tests. Made an appointment to see the docs and did a test before i went. It was positive. I would give it a few days and test again. Hope you get the result that you want.

it may be stress, especially if you are worrying about it being positive. When mine was late by a over a month and I'd had several negative tests, the GP wasn't even remotely concerned (although he didn't think me mad for going and asking). Apparently its quite normal for things to be delayed by stress.

No harm in doing another test, maybe in another couple of days time. Try and relax a much as you can, when mine was delayed I made a really effort to take my mind of it and relax and eventually it did arrive

I had two bfn from tesco on Saturday, as I tested at my mums I put them in my bag to bin at home so as not to start any gossip! When I went to chuck them in the bin about 12 hours after testing they were BFP! Even though I watched the tesco test for about 10 mins!
