can infections be passed to baby?

My doctor suspected i have pleurisy and blook results came back today that i have a nasty infection. she has doubled my dose of anti biotics. but if there is infection in my blood stream can it be passed to my LO?

Not felt her move as much today althought im probably worryig over nothing. Im 29+3

nope, the placenta gets in the way and only a very few bacteria can cross it eg listeria, and the doc would have borne this in mind
