TENS for PGP / SPD

Has anyone out there tried using a TENS machine to ease the pain of PGP? If so, did it work and where did you put the pads?

Apparently I don't have a problem with the SP joint, but the SI joint has slipped. The physio has corrected this, but I still get a lot of pain in the left buttock due to the muscles locking around the unstable joint. Do I put the pads on the SI joint (lower back) or on the buttock where the pain is?

Just interested to know what experiences others have had. At the moment I have loaned my TENS machine to a friend who has just had her baby, but was thinking about trying it when I get it back. The physio wasn't really very enthusiastic about it. She didn't say not to use it, but that she wasn't really sure where to put the pads and didn't think it would help much!
