am 28 +4 and just went for my 28 week check up. My BP has gone up but still within normal range. But my pulse was 121!! I had done nothing strenuous, just sat in waiting room reading a magazine for 40 mins! I have to go back friday to have it checked again, just feel a bit worried. Has anyone else had this?

Hi westlondongirl

I had an appointment with my GP yesterday to check my blood pressure and my resting rate was 105, I'm only 7wks today. The doctor was a little concerned, but not overly.

I have googled high pulse during pregnancy and from what I can find the heartrate typically raises by about 20bpm due to increased progesterone (it decreases vascular resistance).

Some people develop tachycardia during pregnancy, the hopsital may be trying to rule that in or out. It can be treated by rest and relaxation.

Good luck for Friday x

Thanks Bunnyjo. I'm sure i'm worrying over nothing (it certainly isn't helping the heart rate!). Hope yours goes down too.

I've got my fingers crossed it does, let me know how you get on tomorrow x

Pulse still up at 108 today. Doctor has taken blood to see if it's due to anaemia which I doubt. Just hoping this won't stuff up xmas as I am due to fly to France to see family on the 22nd and at the moment can't be certified as fit to fly

How are you Bunnyjo?
