Hi all, has anyone else got really hairy since becoming pregnant. down below went mad with hair and had to have wax as couldnt stand it anymore and now ive just noticed hair on my top lip. aaagh. is this a sign of a boy or girl or does it not make a diffence. this is my fifth pregnancy and don't remember having this before. off now to buy wax strips. lol (grin)

I was a bit of a hairy monster! Wouldn't have thought it signals sex but so you know i had a boy..... Waxing?? Don't bother.... easier just to trim... was for me anyway...

Interesting you say this, I seem to be completely the opposite - usually have to do my roots every couple of months, but it's been 6 months now with no noticeable growth! And I haven't shaved my legs or my plucked eyebrows in weeks!
This goes some way at least to outweighing all the other crap we have to put up with!

My hair has gone crazy too! I was thinking about bleaching it on my tummy
after 1st trimester i assume this ok.

Does anyone know when the lushious thick long locks appear in pregnancy? Rather than the faint smell of sick, lank, dry but somehow greasy hair i currently bestow boo!

I got a hairy belly last pregnancy, it was a boy. I'm nearly 18 weeks pg now, head hair is doing well, looks nice, no belly hair as yet! Everyone thinks it might be a girl. We'll see.

My (head)hair is always noticable thicker, shinier and less greasy in second half of pregnany (this is my 4th).

Legs and lady garden much the same, I think, but cannot really see anymore .

Just a word of warning: all that lovely or not so lovely hair is likely to fall out a few months after you had your baby. I am already planning my postbaby crop because I cannot stand the mess of long tresses everywhere for weeks on end, gah!
And do not get me started on annoying short regrowth, double gah!

My hair doesn't seem to be growing much but it's definitely thicker (on my head ) I don't lose any in the hair brush or when washing. My leg hair doesn't seem to be growing at all. As for lady garden......no idea really, haven't been able to get close enough for a good look for a while!

James, I'm having a girl and have hair on my belly, so I'm afraid can't confirm the hair/sex theory there!

bigpreggybelly · 08/12/2009 16:26

My head hair is falling out much less (hardly any) but is still growing much quicker. Its not all thick and luscious though, because I don't think any new hairs are growing either.

Elsewhere, less new hair, but what's there is growing faster.

No idea what sex I'm having.

i was hairy (tummy too) and had a girl...GP told me it takes about a year after for all the hair to go away. 6 months down the line and still a bit of hair on my tummy but not as much....
