Hi all, just looking for some reassurance really and/or any similar experiences. I am 33wks pregnant and for the last couple of mths I have been experiencing sudden onset of dizziness (my ears block and the room spins and I have to lie down with eyes shut - it normally passes after about an hour but can last longer). Have been to the doctors and had blook pressure checked etc and the only thing they think it might be is Labyrinthitis (viral infection of inner ear) but it is now occurring with increasing frequency and I can't really drive or go out incase it happens in public and I panic. Has anyone else experienced this and if so did you find any solution/how to cope? I have been reassured it isn't affecting the baby but I am sure my worrying and panicking when it happens isn't helping. Thanks

Sounds like Vertigo.

I get this either with ear/nose throat viruses.
Ive had it for a week or so before. The only thing I could do was lay on my side.

Its very scary.

I get it after being on a boat for a long time or sea swimming.... dont know why !?

Dont panic.... Just rest, it probably is viral.

I had labrynthitis last year, and it doesn't sound quite like I experienced it. Mine was very sudden onset, but gradually improved as weeks went on, so it sounds interesting that it keeps coming back in waves. I'm with joanne, it sounds more like vertigo to me.
