Please help!!

My boobs and the top of my bump have been so itchy over the last couple of weeks that it keeps me awake!

I moisturize regularly, especially after a shower or bath, and it's not making any difference at all.

Any advice would be really gratefully received as it is making me lose my mind...

Can only sympathise really, have had the same since week 20 including peeling as well. Attractive!
I try and exfoliate every day and have started using E45 which does seem to relieve it a little. Needs to be done daily tho.
Tis a pain in the bum isn't it?!

HooperMummy · 04/12/2009 19:54

is it ever! especially when your boobs are sensitive anyway - scratching them becomes downright painful!!

I'll definitely give E45 a go - thanks for the advice!

Am not pg anymore but remember this. I used to moisturise every day too, but found the oilier moisturisers, like bio oil, helped more with this feeling. I used to rub it on boobs and tummy in circular motion for quite a few minutes every day, and found it quit soothing. (Was not always bio oil though, just that type of moisturiser).

Don't know about bump but my boobs were itchy as hell too, then I changed bra to a thinner one as opposed to a padded one and it's much better now.

Oh yes, oil is good!
I usually slap baby oil on after shower. Burts Bees Mama Bee oil is lovely too. Still put moisturiser on over the top mind!

Moisturise like your life depended on it!
I make sure I wear a cotton bra.

Do tell your MW of the itching spreads.

I know exactly what you mean.

I found putting Aqueous Cream on whilst in the shower and not quite washing it all off before getting out has helped. Then drip drying, or patting rather than rubbing dry and applying lashing of E45! Just as well both aren't too costly - seem to be going through tons of the stuff, but its working!

Keep your nails short and clean and have a good scratch. It's what got me through it.

Better ask your doctor it could be something serious.

Thanks everyone for your tips - I shall be trying them out over the next few days... I am praying that they bring me some relief!

I've also got a midwife appointment on Thursday so will mention it to her then but I'm pretty sure that it's not anything serious.
