Membrane Sweep Qu

What makes a memebrane sweep favourable? Ive had 2 in 24 hours, first 48 hours ago and last one was 24 hours ago and had my show since last one and lots of discharge, im 2cm dilated abd 50effaced and midwife yesterday could feel the head, said it was right down and was able to sweep well around it .......ive had bad cramps last night from about 9pm to 5am but they have eased now, i can feel baby pushing right down in my bum area.
is it likely to work?!?!?

sounds to me like things have started. I had a sweep that didn't work, but after the interventions I then went on to have, I wouldn't rush it for the world if I were you! good luck, shouldn't be long now.

Is this your first and are you overdue?

I'm 36+3 with DC2 and very keen for baby to arrive before xmas so will do whatever I can to speed things along...
