Snoring when pregnant

Is it normal to snore more in pregnancy? I have to admit that I do snore normally, but now at 34wks it's got to the point where I just about drop off to sleep then wake myself up by snoring like a pig straight away. Please tell me I'm not alone and that once baby's here it'll be him waking me up, not the sound of a rabid boar!

Oh mine was awful (just had DS on Friday). I tried the breathe right strips which helped a bit but didn't stop it. I was so aware of it in hospital I only stayed a night (after C-section).

Lol, my DH is sleeping on the airbed in another room at the moment, as he says I'm snoring so loudly! I'm only 23 weeks too!

Plus, I've got a sore throat too

I don't snore normally but with my first (DS) I snored like a bear!
My DH moved into spare room and could still here me !
I had a CS too and was in for 6 days. I was awoken one night with the junkie in the bed opposite screaming at me to stop snoring !

It is the hormones relaxing and softening the soft pallet at the back of the throat. Nothing you can do im afraid.

I don't snore with this PG (35 weeks) but that's because i can hardly sleep as the relaxing of the muscles and tissues have been to work on my hips and back so im in agony - id love a good snore now!

Thanks for the replies/assurance guys. I was beginning to think I was a bit of a freak. I'm really hoping that the neighbours think it's DH!

LOL!! I had to get the train to work when pregnant with DS and ALWAYS woke myself up snoring (not to mention the rest of the carriage no doubt). Think I've started again but I see it as just getting my own back on DP as he snores always!

MamaLazarou · 02/12/2009 10:52

Breathe Right nasal strips saved my marriage (maybe not ideal for the train to work tho!).

I never snored before pregnancy (allegedly!) but no apparently snore all night. I actually woke myself snoring the other day. DP has taken to wearing earplugs (bio-ears ones are brilliant). Unfortunately it means now he can't hear me telling him to stop snoring!

lol somewhat im 32 weeks and snore like a pig! infact its like feeding time at the zoo with the both of us snoring away!

I did snore before but nothing like this, the worse thing is I go to bed early if DH has friends over and we live in a tiny flat, with bedroom next to bathroom! They get to hear my pig like noises, or i fall asleep on the sofa and snore away! lmao always funny
