I am nearly 24 weeks and have gained 1.5 stones or TEN whole kilos. I only gained 12 kilos in total with DS so feel like a total lardarse. Anyone else?

I've gained about 8 kilos at 26 weeks. Seems to be mostly bump though, although I've still got 3 months to pile it on everywhere else

Morloth · 01/12/2009 17:20

No idea, I haven't been getting weighed. I look about the same - just have a big belly. I have lost some muscle tone (this is because I have been sitting on my arse eating as opposed to working out ).

Gangle · 01/12/2009 17:22

I don't understand people who just put on weight on their bellies. Everything gets bigger with me! Plus, you can't carry 10 kilos just on your belly!

I had put on 4.5 kilos at 24 weeks, now no idea as no scales in house, but gonna ask to be weighed at next week's 28 week appt.
Seems to be all bump and boobs (fingers crossed it stays that way!)

Naivenewbie · 01/12/2009 18:16

8 kilos (1st 4lbs) at 31 weeks and every bit of it is bump and boobs! I have inspected myself from every angle and I'm pretty sure I haven't gained weight anywhere else. I haven't done a stitch of exercise either - it's just your metabolism and the luck of the draw I reckon. Unless you're eating cake all day...

AKMD · 01/12/2009 18:23

I'm going to sound horribly lucky but I have the complete opposite situation: I've actually lost weight overall rather than put any on. I am in big trouble with the midwife over that but the baby is just fine and developing normally so it's me rather than the baby that she's worried about.

AKMD · 01/12/2009 18:24

Am 26 weeks BTW.

pooter · 01/12/2009 18:28

i am exactly the same as when i first conceived - and i'm 29wks. I lost well over a stone with dreadful sickness - wouldn't recommend it! I'm now trying to make up for it by eating my owm weight in choccy digestives

harleysmama · 01/12/2009 20:01

i put on 1.5 stone by 24 weeks (everywhere) i am now 30 weeks and its went up to 2.5 stone over all.
following a healthy veggie diet with a few added biccies.
im not worried as my baby is active and healthy and im going to breast feed the weight off.

ReneRusso · 01/12/2009 21:26

I have gained about a stone so far and I'm 22 weeks. Its a bit more than I'd like but not too bad, I'm afraid my diet hasn't been especially healthy.

MillyMollyMoo · 02/12/2009 08:43

It's so much easier to put weight on over the winter pregnancy because you'd probably put a few pounds on anyway, I found it slowed down a lot as the weather got nicer and I stopped stuffing my face with nice CHristmas food.

amyboo · 02/12/2009 09:52

I got weighed last week at my 22 week appointment. I've put on 3.7kg so far. Still, I managed to put on 3kg in the 3 months between having a mmc at 13 weeks and getting pregnant again, so I think I've really put on 6.7 kg in total. All of it is on boobs and bump though - definitely no weight gain anywhere else, but I have gone up 3 cup sizes...

Trying4Baby1 · 02/12/2009 10:15

Getting worried after reading all the responses as I'm 19wks and after weighing myself this morning have discovered I've lost half a kg since my booking appointment at 8wks. Should I be concerned? Should I be phoning the midwifes to check?

BusyMissIzzy · 02/12/2009 10:16

Oh yeah, forgot about my boobs. They must be about 1kg heavier. Each
And like Morloth, I'm watching all my muscle tone melt away from lack of exercise

MillyMollyMoo · 02/12/2009 10:16

This is why they don't tend to weigh people anymore, call if you're worried but i bet all is well.

Trying4Baby1 · 02/12/2009 10:22

Well belly's still growing larger anyway and I feel fine, I've been eating healthily and to be honest eating bigger portions as well. This is my first pregnancy so I don't know if that makes me more prone to worrying as I have nothing to compare it to. I might check with them as I have a scan next week so if it's something they want to check they can sort it at the same time.

roulade · 02/12/2009 11:04

I remember when pregnant with ds (3) until 20 weeks i only put on 1lb then my belly 'popped' literally over night (went to bed with no bump, woke up with one, weird) and i gained steadily up to about 25lb in total

MrsBadger · 02/12/2009 11:11

as this thread shows, it takes everyone differently.
This time I'd put on 7kg (ie 1.5 stone) by 24wks but then only 3kg more by 32wks.

Weight gain really isn't a good indicator of how well a pg is going, so as long as the mw is happy with how the baby is doing, feel free to ignore it all together

Gangle · 03/12/2009 11:22

This thread is only for lardarses so don't want any stories of people losing weight or staying the same!! Funny how each pregnancy is different as I didn't gain much with DS1. Does your starting weight have anything to do with it? I know someone how has only gained 5lbs so far and she is 26 weeks but she was size 14-16 to start with. I was a size 8 and seemed to pile it on literally overnight. Just hoping I get back there.

I have gained 1 pound, due to being sick most of the time.

Now i can eat normally though it time to make up for it.

Oh am 26 weeks.

Karrierbag · 03/12/2009 13:58

I lost about 1 stone due to sickness but comparing starting weight to current weight I've put on about 1.5 in total now - it is all boobs, bum and belly as I'm still wearing my size 10 jeans (they've got a bit tight over the last week though! lol) Enjoying chocolate digestives a bit too much now though and am 25 weeks, so expecting to put on a lot more! I really don't care though, after not being able to keep anything down until last weeks I've a lot of catching up to do!!

pooter · 04/12/2009 15:00

yes, please dont feel jealous of anyone who hasnt put weight on due to sickness - at one point i thought i couldnt go through with this much wanted pregnancy it was so dreadful. Im like Karrierbag in that i dont care how many choccie biccies i eat now - im delighted they are staying down!

Karrierbag · 04/12/2009 18:39

Pooter - it's great isn't it! Hahaha. Love it! xx

Gangle · 29/12/2009 22:21

Relieved to say that I've only gained another kilo this month. Am now 28 weeks and have gained 11 kilos in total - thank goodness! How is everyone else doing?

MumNWLondon · 29/12/2009 23:18

no idea as no one has weighed me at any point!
