Having mine tomorrow as a little surprise from DH. It's our first and we're both desperate to know the sex. And figured by having this scan as well as the 20week, we'll get double confirmation of baby's gender. How accurate will it be at 16+1? Has anyone else had one at this stage and turn out to be wrong?

I think this really depends on the skill of the technician and the technology beign used.

We were lucky to be scanned with someone senior on a state-of-the-art machine. We saw very definite boy parts at 12 weeks, then again at 16 weeks and just had the 20 week scan which left nothing to the imagination!

If you go somewhere good I am sure it will be very accurate.

Congratulations and best of luck!!
