Thanks

I will call GP tomorrow to advise of pg and to ask about planned appt

Just wondered if anyone medical knew if this procedure would still go ahead, or if there were any other ways it could be assessed

Called the surgery and spoke to a GP (not my own, who I'm seeing this week)

He wasn't sure if gynae exam would go ahead - was going to let my own GP decide

I'm not sure what the risks of having an internal are at this stage of pg, but obv want to know cause of post-intercourse bleeding

Just to put your mind at rest, I had an internal examination at 6 weeks pregnant due to a suspected eptopic pregnancy (it wasn't thankfully) followed by an TV scan and am now 32 weeks. My GP reassured me there was no danger to the baby, so you should be fine.

Your GP will not perform the examination if he/she is worried about disturbing the pregnancy.

hi - pelvic exams like this are fine during pregnancy, don't worry. For instance, quite often they are done to take swabs for suspected infections etc will no ill effect. You may, however, not need one given your news - CONGRATS btw. But don't worry - other than being uncomfortable, they do no harm

Thankyou both for reassurance

Fifi, congrats!
