Goats Cheese on Pizza

Does anyone know if its ok to eat Goats cheese on a pizza when pregnant. Specifically a Padana pizza from Pizza Express! Off there tonight and really fancy one of these Thanks

I have been partial to the Goats Cheese calzone at Ask a couple of times during this pregnancy and I don't think it's done me any harm! Mmmmmmmmm, love goats cheese.

I checked with Pizza Express (one of my pregnancy cravings!) and they told me that all their cheeses were pasteurised... and of course on the pizzas they are cooked too... so I am guessing they are ok for you.

as long as the cheese is completely cooked (hot - not just warm) it's fine.

Just to clarify Lucy101's post - the pasteurisation is not the issue - listeria is a risk on soft mould-ripened cheeses regardless of whether the cheese is pasteurised or not.

But thorough cooking would kill it, so you should be fine with a pizza
