I am 5 wks pg with second baby and today went for a pretty useless early scan after some very light spotting last Monday. I had also been feeling a bit crampy so was given this early appointment.
After being told that there was no point in me being there I had an internal scan which showed some sort of tiny something too small to rule anything in or out. I had a blood test then back for another on Sunday.
I just wish that this pg could be 'easy' but I am already stressed and shattered!
Some nice words of support/experience much appreciated

I had a 5 week scan too with my 2nd pg cos of fear of ectopic - it is really far too early to see anything and it was inconclusive. That 'inconclusive' is now 6 weeks old and wriggling on my lap as I type.

Good luck x

Thanks sponge, just frustrated that my appointment was made by GP for 7 weeks, had been called to come in earlier by EPAU and then had a midwife tell me I was wasting my time being there....
I wonder why they bother when it is not reassuring and not conclusive at all at 5 weeks?
Will keep positive!
And big congratulations on your lo

it is frustrating, i had to go back twice more before they saw the hb which was very stressful cos i'd had 2 m/cs before my DS1 was born

sometimes they can see things early so i suppose they don't want to keep you hanging on, but the blood test is more helpful before 6 weeks tbh

i really feel for you, it's soo hard to wait
