Car seat for taxi home

Does anyone else plan to get a taxi home from the hospital after birth? How do you know what car seat to buy? I have tried ringing the taxi companies but they don't seem to know much about fixings in their cars or at least not enough to reassure me that we will buy the right one...

Maxi Cosi Cabrio is a good one. We don't have a car but got it as it attached to our pram as well, and proved handy for visiting people. I don't think you'd have a problem with any car seat in a taxi tbh.

Second the recommendation for the maxi cosi cabrio. They are fantastic car seats. Recommend borrowing someones car before the birth and practicing fitting one before trying it with an actual baby in it.

we got a taxi home from hospital and also had the maxi-cosi. I think pretty much any carseat would fit a taxi and you don't need there to be fixings in the car, just the seatbelt.

As others have said the MC Cabrio will fit almost all cars, as will the Mothercare Travel Tot and the Britax baby carrier (not sure what it's called now)

maybe you could just borrow one? ask if the shop when you buy it if it needs especially long seat belts?

Ford cars are known to have quite short seatbelts and be quite problematic to fit round a car seat, so if you get a private hire cab it may be worth checking it isn't a Ford.

Thank you for all of your advice!

the jane strata car seat doesnt need long seat belts so will fit in most cars and is easy to fit in - its the one we have got

I had no problems putting the maxi-cosi in my Ford Focus X
