Am sitting here all borderline teary. I'm 5 weeks along and have been having pain on my right side since Monday, but no blood/discharge of any kind, so have chalked it up to being another cyst (I had one w DD too). I have had the chills/shivers since then too, but no fever. I was at GP getting antibiotics for a chest infection this morning and mentioned the pain. He just called to say he's spoken to the obs and I am to make my way to the hospital for a scan at 2:30 to check for an ectopic pregnancy.

Please tell me it will all be ok.

Try not to worry - ectopic pregnancies are rare. Look on the positive - you will get a chance to see your tiny baby soon.

Thanks Holly, I'm trying to stay positive but just a bit scared too. My great-gran died in her thirties form an ectopic pregancy that burst, and my aunt had an ectopic in her thirties too... Scared it runs in my family or something! I will try to focus on the hope of just getting an early glimpse of my little bean.

I've just looked on the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust website and it makes no mention at all of it running in families. x
