Is there anything I can use - starting to get uncomfortable now! I'm 39 weeks.

I've just had a look at the Anusol website - not one I usually frequent - and it recommends speaking to a pharmacist before using an over-the-counter preparation in pregnancy. They often have little privacy booths for you to use. No-one wants their haemorrhoids shouted all over the shop.

Have you tried a witchhazel compress? Witchhazel can be astringent enough to shrink them a bit, at least temporarily.

Preparation H is safe to use in pregnancy. It is witchhazel based, and does help.

Try ice-packs too

I can sympathise with this problem. Suppositories are better. Anusol is OK to use, can get it over the counter.

My GP prescribed me Anusol... tbh can't say it's really worked though
