I'm 33 wks preg, so the rental agreement I've got with DD2 is up soon

But apart from missing her being snug in there, there are so many things I'm looking forward to, laying down in the bath, not having to wake up to turn over at night, and most of all having more than just three pairs of jeans to choose from in the morning

What can't you wait to do?

I enjoyed my first post-birth glass of orange juice. a simpl pleasure but one I hadn't had for 6 months because of raging heartburn

mrsbean78 · 23/11/2009 11:48

Walking is my number 1.
I am 40 + 5 and my baby is fully engaged for the last two weeks. I walked throughout my pregnancy but now feel hot, heavy uncomfortable and confined to the sofa (at the very time that everyone tells me to go for a long walk!)

wine, sleeping on stomache, normal shape, no heartburn, pate and camembert.

MrsJeff · 23/11/2009 17:15

Generally I'm enjoying being preggers - am sure I'll regret saying that but so far (28 weeks) so good. HOWEVER! really looking forward to:

  • sleeping on my back
  • DH obsessing over bits of me other than my tummy - he is very sweet but it does make me feel a bit like I'm only here for one thing (and not THAT thing) at the moment
  • wine - have not abstained but have been very restrained - it'll be nice to follow up a single glass with one or two more, although it has been a good lesson in realising one glass does not mean a whole bottle!
  • exercising properly - getting a good sweat on and getting some shape back. I have also vowed to appreciate my body/ figure more when I'm bump-free - I love having my bump but God I wish someone had pointed out that I really had nothing to worry about beforehand (by no means perfect but a damn sight better than I realised) and to indulge in the clothes I thought I couldn't get away with!

39 weeks... ALL of the below and meeting my second DD

AgentZigzag · 23/11/2009 18:19

MrsJeff, I'm determined to remember waddling down the street and never be self conscious about what I'm wearing or what I look like again!

It's not my imagination, people really do stare (my worst nightmare), but thankfully it's usually accompanied with a smile at the bump.

oh - my DD is 7 weeks. I LOVE having her, but oh, I sometimes miss the pregnancy. I miss feeling her kick and move and I miss the belly to rub But she's great. I couldn't imagine life without her anymore!

Lishylooloo · 23/11/2009 20:09

I'm amazed you miss the pregnancy! This is my second and I am counting the days....

wibblela · 23/11/2009 21:10

Just remembered - am looking forward to a steak, cooked how I like it! "Cut off the horns and wipe it's bum" is normally how I describe it

Am also looking forward to Brie and Grape Sandwiches, Sushi, Runny Yolks, Pate, Nuts, and things which I can't think of right now because of pregnancy brain!!!

klonger · 23/11/2009 21:25

Pate; stinky cheese; high heels; more than 1 glass of wine; a large whisky mac (assuming BF and expressing successful); not having aching legs after an hour of moving around; not snoring loud enough to wake the dead (other half will appreciate that one too); not wearing items of clothing that closely resemble a sack.

Most of all though, looking forward to finally knowing whether it's a wee boy or a wee girl who's been wiggling around in there, giving it a proper name and meeting it face to face.

waterbirthbaby · 23/11/2009 23:59

@Lischylooloo She is my first and although I had a dreadful pregnancy (Hyperemesis Gravidarum, PSD and chronic fatigue) I just loved it. I didn't really show till about 6 months and grew HUGE in the last four weeks, but I loved being pregnant regardless.

@Wibblela I only had one craving the whole pregnancy and that was for a brie and cranberry sandwich, which I promptly walked to the shop to buy. I had to have it. There was no option. Also, when I was on holiday in Australia I ate loads of sushi, because I knew it was fresh - I really missed it the rest of the pregnancy though!

@Klonger I know what you mean! When my baby came out we were so concerned about getting the cord cut as it was tight around her neck, I only thought to check her sex when she was about a minute or two old!

Lishylooloo · 24/11/2009 16:13

WBB: The fact that you loved being pg despite have hyperemesis etc. makes you a very positive person

Minshu · 24/11/2009 17:44

RE missing the kicking - I had phantom kicks for a few days after DD arrived, 7 weeks ago

I enjoyed being pg (easier time of it than wbb), but it's fab being able to roll over in bed, to wear non-maternity trousers (although that took 2 or 3 weeks), going upstairs without getting out of breath, being able to pick things up off the floor...

thedollshouse · 24/11/2009 17:47

A glass of champagne and some gorgeous underwear.

fififolle · 24/11/2009 18:15

Perfect post pregnancy day

Breakfast dippy egg, soldiers, coffee

Shopping for nice clothes whilst wealing lovely underwear

Lunch pate bread brie and red wine

Early evening Gin and tonic

Possibly champagne for supper!!!

MrsBadger · 25/11/2009 11:07

rofl at fifi

dd is 2.3 and I have yet to have that day

weliveonpastaandtoast · 25/11/2009 15:12

Runny stinky cheese and wine...mmmmmm

I'm in the ok bit at the moment (22 weeks) after horrible nausea, fatigue, dizziness and vile temper...and am worrying about how DD will cope with new baby (she'll be 2) so not wishing this pregnancy to be over.

Someone mentioned leg cramps - I got these with DD and started getting them again this time, but my midwife who is French said that in France they prescribe magnesium for cramps but don't here for some reason. I've been taking magnesium tablets occasionally and no more leg cramps which is wonderful...

onebyoneNOTfourbyfour · 25/11/2009 15:49

Only 18 weeks but at the moment I'm looking forward to a huge glass of red wine and runny eggs.

MusicalMummyJules · 25/11/2009 16:13

Obviously I am loving the pregnancy but I am missing/re-looking forward to the following things:

PATE and more PATE (I can't believe I have gone a whole summer without eating it)
Hot baths/Jacuzzis
Lying on my front
Dyeing my hair
A nice cold glass of white wine or a jug of mojitos!
Not needing a wee every 5 minutes
Retching/heaving at every smell
Being able to dance without getting groin ligament pain
Being able to sing properly (having trouble with the whole breathing lark, I just don't seem to have enough breath!)

fififolle · 25/11/2009 18:37

I can dream about my perfect day!!
Also will be glad when sniffer dog sense of smell retreats - makes my job (dentist) quite unpleasant at times!

AgentZigzag · 26/11/2009 11:23

Thanks so much to everyone who's posted, it's amazing the alcohol industry isn't bankrupted by the fall in sales! Although I suppose it makes it up when we're free to partake again

It was nice to see that I wasn't on my own in missing the wriggly one once they're out in the world and you can see those little feet that have been booting you in the ribs for so long!

Hope everyones baby is healthy and doesn't take too long in getting out...good luck and bring on the cheese and wine parties
