Hi,

I am 15 weeks pregnant and I have already gained 10 kg. It was winter just before I got pregnant and I have not been on my pre summer diet. I am a bit worried beacause I am much bigger now than with my first pregnancy. Hubby says i should not worry about that now and just be healthy. Anyone that can cheer me up about this?

Well... I did roughly that two... I am 22 weeks and about 20lb above where I started.... and I certainly didn't eat junk... but my appetite was insane and if I didn't eat every two hours I would literally keel over (and the eating stopped the nausea and sickness to a degree). My appetite slowed down dramatically around two weeks ago and now I am probably eating slightly less than I was pre-pregnancy... but I am just going with it as that is what my body seems to want... and my baby looks well (and a good size!) in the scans.

Lots of my friends who have already had babies, and my mum, ended up putting on around 3.5 to 4 stone.... and they have all lost it. The other thing that cheers me up is that some celebs like Milla Jovovich and Kate Hudson put on around 70lb!

Thanks Lucy that does help. Good to know i'm not the only one besides I am going to try and breast feed. With my daughter I could only do two weeks- I got mastitis and had to stop, I did lose about 17 kg in that time.

Hi,
I was the opposite to you, but I put on 3 stone with my first pg and 2 with my second. With my first I just could not stop eating - I just wanted to eat all the time, but didn't feel that way second time round.

In both cases the weight came off, but much easier second time round because I couldn't just loll around cuddling a baby and eating cake - I had my first to look after too!

It's hard but I think when pregnant it's best to try not to think about your weight too much. Also if you do bfeed then from your previous exp sounds like it will fall off anyway. I found it much easier to lose weight when bfeeding than when not.
