Hmm, is it wee wee? Or not?

I appear to be leaking a bit. I am wearing a sanitary towel at all times, but whatever is appearing on it seems to be a little darker than urine, not brown, more a tan (!) colour. So, I am wondering if it's just concentrated urine (so sorry, I know it's TMI), or whether it's actually my waters.

I seem to notice more at night, it's almost dripping out of me. Although I apparently have no pelvic floor to speak of anyhoo.

Am 34 weeks. Any takers?

When my waters broke, it wasn't the mad gush you see on tv. I got up thinking I had weed myself, ran to the loo, where it leaked out and when it had stopped, I got up, walked out of the loo and it leaked again (totally different to wee, as I couldn't stop it leaking, which it seemed to do more, when I changed position / moved). So it was constant.

But it was clear in colour, if i remember right.

Probably worth ringing hospital to check though. If it is waters, they might want to give you antibiotics to prevent any infection. Take a used pad with you and they will know if wee or waters. Good luck!

Apologies for the thread title, by the way. We are potty training and it was a reflex.

Ringing hospital - I mean labour ward.

Pinkjenny · 19/11/2009 15:51

Hmm, I don't seem to notice any difference. Perhaps, as I feared, I am actually just pissing myself. What fun! Something else I don't remember from last time

Can you give you MW a ring and get her to check it for you? If it is your waters they may want you in to check you over.

sheeplikessleep · 19/11/2009 15:52

does it smell of wee?

Pinkjenny · 19/11/2009 15:54

Not strongly, no. Oh, this is all so hideously embarrassing

I'll ring the midwife.

also, even though i didn't have the 'oh i've emptied a bucket of water between my legs' syndrome, it was enough to make me run for the loo (i thought i'd wet myself too).
definitely ring midwife, am sure they've had that call 1000s of times before.

LilRedWG · 19/11/2009 15:55

No advice I'm afraid but LOL at title and potty training.

I had the same thing last night pinkjenny-every time i moved i could feel it trickling out of me but it was clear. I wore a pad all night which was damp this morning, ive been to hospital for my consultant appt as am nearly 38 weeks, she checked me over and says it is just copious amounts of watery discharge-lovely eh?

hairtwiddler · 19/11/2009 18:55

Have also had the same thing twice in the last three weeks! Jury is still out on whether I was incontinent or had hindwaters leak. I still steadfastly believe the latter!
Amniotic fluid will keep on coming they tell me...
If going in, wear a maternity pad as they can't tell with superabsorbent always type ones. They put me on a monitor, and did a speculum exam.

prettyfly1 · 19/11/2009 19:52

you sound like me and unfortunately - its wee. I have exactly the same thing. Midwife assured me waters are totally clear and will be fairly constant.

Pinkjenny · 20/11/2009 09:52

Thanks ladies - this is all very reassuring. Grim, but reassuring.

I would still contact the hospital though in case it is your waters and the colour is meconium......better to be safe than sorry X
