NT of 2.6 mm at 12+6 weeks. Should I Be Worried?

Had my dating scan yesterday at 12+6 weeks, and the NT measurement was 2.6mm. The sonographer wouldn't tell me what this meant, so I feel a bit lost. Tempted to google, but know that's bad.

Waiting for the blood test results too, but realise this could take a week or so.

Has anyone else had an NT result like this?

Hi, That is fine I think. My son was that and had an overal risj of about 1 in 3000 if I remember rightly. I think 3mm and below is average. xx

i had a nt test at 12 weeks 3 days and the nt measurement was 1.2mm. i recieved the rest of info about 3days after having the bloods done. when you recieve a letter it will tell you if your high/low risk. if its high they ring you i was told.

I had a similar measurement at 13 weeks exactly - 2.5mm. Combined with my bloods my risk was about 1/8000. According to Lesley Regan's "Your Pregnancy, Week by Week", anything under 3mm is normal, 3-4mm is borderline and 4mm and above is higher risk.

I don't think you've anything to worry about but hope your bloods come back OK

In itself I don't think it's anything to worry about. I was given a measurement of 2.35mm and was told it's on the 'high side of normal'.

Because of my age though (40) having an nt measurement on the high side of normal gave me a high risk factor for downs (1/33). Luckily, follow up CVS test results seem to show no problem.

I don't think you need to worry too much unless the scan showed other problems.

You could always get a proper nuchal scan done if you are worried. This will also involve a couple of blood tests, and the scan is done by someone more specialist in looking at the nuchal space. They combine all the results to give you a final risk ratio. You may have to pay privately for it though depending on where you live. Mine cost £175.
