I'm 36+5 today, due 11th Dec. I was invited for SF jab at my surgery at the session on Tuesday but by the time i called they were fully booked so offered me a place on the 1st Dec. I asked whether it mattered that it was only 10 days before my due date and the receptionist said she would book me in and ask a nurse to call me back to answer my query. They did and said that if i wasn't sure about having it i should speak to Dr and made me an appointment to go in next week to discuss. Its not that i'm not sure about it, i had decided i was going to have it but i just wanted to check there were no issues with having it that close to baby arriving, if indeed she hasn't already arrived by then. Does anyone know the answer to this? Has anyone else had the jab that far on in their pregnancy??

Thanks

Hi, I had mine on Monday, when I was 38+5. I asked their advice on if it was too late for it, but the response was that this vaccination actually takes little time to become active (maybe 24 hours?), and that the pregnant women with SF who were dying were in the last month of pregnancy, so they considered me an ideal candidate really.
Hope that helps
