Early preg scan at 8 wks - what might I see?

I think I'm 8 wks pregnant but last night I had terrible stomach pains (real ouch ones) and my sickness seems to be lifting, so I'm getting into a right lather. My 2nd pregnancy ended at 7 wks, so I thought rather than have to wait, I'd pay for a private scan. What might I be able to see?

Thanks

Hi Sorry to hear about your stomach pain, good idea to get a scan to put your mind at rest. I had a scan which dated me at 8+ 1 weeks. I could clearly see the heartbeat but the shape looked like a blurry baked bean!

You are likely to see a small bean shape that is all heartbeat. Do you not have a local EPU who can see you rather than having to pay for a private one?

I do have a local EPU but I have bad memories , also easier to get to private place from work, and I've paid my deposit now anyway in a fit of feeling like I was taking some positive action....

Hiya, I am also 8 weeks pregnant and had a scan at 6 weeks and 3 days. At this stage it really does look like a bean but you can hear the heartbeat which is the important thing. Go and have the scan and worrying is not going to be good for you. I wouldn't worry about the nausea. I was really bad at 6 weeks, then ok for a week and then bad again. Also with my dd now 2.5, I wasn't nauseous at all. I hope everyting is ok

The pains could be stretching.

I had them and the m/w said I would lose the baby. Baby has just gone to bed, .

I had a scan at 8+3 and our baby looked like a cashew nut. We enlarged and framed the scan photo.

Hi there - I was in France and had some bleeding at the beginning of the pregnancy so was scanned at 6, 7 and 10 weeks. It was lovely to see the heartbeat and the shape was a bean in the early ones and then more defined as a baby at 10 weeks. I have had all sorts of pains and stitch-type sensations... my sickness has also always been on and off... I am 22 weeks now and all good by the way so it is good not to attach too much meaning to these things. FIngers crossed for you!

Thanks everyone, only one day to wait for my scan now...
