How much is too much paracetamol? I have had the worst cold i have ever known for the past week which i have just got on with and taken the odd paracetamol.
It has now developed into facial pain on the left hand side. My jaw, eye sockets, teeth and cheeks are in constant pain and have had very very little sleep for over a week now. The pain is getting worse and yesterday possibly had 5 paracetamols through out the day. Is this to much? I have phoned the doctors who are very busy with a cold virus going around and so no one can see me and they can only get nurse to phone me which i am still waiting for!!
I am 31 week with a 3 year old, still working and nearly ready to drop (litteraly, not baby)

You can take the normal dose, it's one of the few things you can take!
NHS advice
Sounds miserable [hug] Hope things get better quickly, Lemsip's still ok during pregnancy isn't it?

Thanks Chulita

I have never felt so bad for so long. I even think giving birth will be easier than this!!

Sounds like you might have a sinus infection. Don't let them fob you off - I had a temp of over 40 when I had one, which obviously you don't want. Try inhaling steam....

TheMightyToosh · 17/11/2009 10:18

Yes, try the steam, this will clear everything out for a bit and give you some relief. Also have you tried either warm or cold flannel on the painful bits? Might help.

Sorry for you - have a really stuffy cold too and paracetamol just doesn't help me to breathe when trying to sleep!

It does sound like a sinus infection.......does your GP surgery not keep some appointments back for emergencies if you phone first thing? You should definitely perservere with them and explain that you are in pain! YOu may need antibiotics to clear it up. I find putting a few drops of olbas oil into hot water and inhaling the vapours helps. Hope you feel better soon X

Well your all right finally got to see doctor at 4.30 and i have a sinus infection!! should have guessed from the horrible snot. They have given me antibiotics which are suitable in pregnancy and no penecillin (allergic) think they may have given me smarties in anti biotic box!

I feel better in myself just by knowing tomorrow they will kick in and hopefully sleep better.

Thanks Everyone x

Take as much as it says on the packet if you need it. I broke my ankle and was taking 8 a day for a few weeks before I felt I could cut it down. Not that it did much but I wasnt allowed anything else. This is one thing you can take! hope you feel better soon
