maternity/bump bands - are they any good?

I'm considering getting a maternity band but just wondering if they are worth it. My problem is few of my tops are long enough to cover my belly (not a bump yet just look very fat) So thought these would be a good solution just to tide me over til I completely go over to maternity clothes. Do you wear them over jeans etc or are they meant to go underneath, for a tucked into your jeans look. Probably a stupid question but as I've never seen them in real life unsure of how tight they are.

Bought 3, was disappointed, one didn't fit, the others ended up not matching any of my tops and ended up finally just buying a couple of properly long maternity tops. Waste of money IMO.

I've found the three pack from New Look pretty good and at a tenner decent value. I used them to hold up unbuttoned trousers more than lengthen tops though. I still use them occasionally to help hold up maternity jeans.

Oh and I wear them over trousers/jeans but under a top

I love mine! Have two from top shop (one white, one black) but really love the one from H&M my sister gave me - it's a more secure fit.

I found them invaluable for the in-between stage - wore them over unbuttoned trousers and to lengthen non-maternity tops. Even now, at 24 weeks, I still wear them every day as I like the support but now I wear them under my clothes.

For a tenner I think it's money well spent.

I thought they were great when I was pregnant worn over trousers/ jeans but under tops. It meant I could wear my regular trousers/jeans for much longer - the bump band covered up the hairband contraption I used to hold up trousers when I couldn't fasten them properly! I had a couple from top shop I think.
