I had acupucture for a few sessions in late pregnancy once to "soften and prepare the cervix". My cervix remained as hard and uncompliant as possible and I was induced at 42 weeks.

what has she gone for? i had accupuncuture twice in last pregnancy for insomnia, and then at the end to soften cervix.

I had accupuncture throughout pregnancy and felt it helped immensely for relaxation and it helped with the pregnancy headaches I was prone to. At the end I had a series of special preparing for labour treatments - supposed to encourage strong, productive contractions. All 3 of my labours had speedy and natural first stages, so I think it helped there too.

I had acupuncture throughout pregnancy for sickness with really good effects. I also had acupuncture to try and induce labour. I went into labour spot on my due date and the labour was 2.5 hours long, so it worked for me.

I've had weekly acupuncture from weeks 16 to 30 (so far) for pain relief - and TBH it's what's kept me sane. The effects aren't massively long lasting (24 hours) but that's enough to keep me going, and I always sleep better on a Monday thanks to it!
