I'm due xmas day as well! Nice to know someone else on here is too. Does it do your head it when people say "oh, what a lovely xmas present".

I'm on mat leave now, but was constantly doing the xmas countdown at work, lol. I'm just going to wait it out, lol. With Tom, labour was really quick (althought I tore bad) and i'm more worried about being at home on my own when I go into labour, so am hoping bubs will come after 18th. I've been told to ask for an ambulance when I phone hospital to say i'm coming in if on my own.

Tom was 6 days late anyway, so am thinking i'll be late this time. In reality though, as long as me and baby are fine, Tom has a nice xmas and I get my xmas dinner, then i'll be happy!

Me too!
Dont think hospital will induce early because due on christmas day.
Although I was born on Christmas Eve (via induction) because the doctor wanted his Christmas dinner!! (but that was 27 years ago)

One of my dilemas is weather baby should have a 2nd birthday in the year? So that he/she has their own day. What do you think?

RE b/days. I think it would depend if bubs came xmas day. DPs b/day is 14th and my brother is 23rd. They certainly don't have a 2nd b/day in the year, but it did annoy my brother having to wait all year.

I think i'd be inclined to let kids have stockings xmas day and main gifts boxing day, so concentrating on child born xmas day.

If one more person suggests a 'christmassy' name I might bop them on the head, lol.

My DD was due on Boxing Day last year. Made the countdown to Christmas soooooo long! Didn't really enjoy Christmas as we held back on all our usual celebrations just in case DD came, but she didn't turn up until 9 January

Others I know who have DCs born on Christmas Day itself often dedicate the morning to the DCs birthday, and then the family Christmas begins at lunchtime. And do a party for friends the week before or week after.

Yeah I never had 2nd birthday and I am 24th. Although if I saw something I really wanted in the year, my mum and dad would let me have it as an early birthday present.

I guess if baby was born on xmas day, he/she would always have birthday partys on a different day. But then most kids have their birthday parties the weekend before or after their birthday (as its easier for parents!!)

Thanks guys for your responses - this is my first baby so not sure what to expect and Im secretly hoping she will make an appearance early. Not sure about 2nd birthday think and probably wont worry until she gets to about 3.

Yes everyone keeps trying to name the baby Holly or Jesus!!! I am so excited about the baby but realise that being born at Christmas for her wont be the same.
