i didn't do it, i would kind of liked to watch my children's births, but not sure it's something i'd want to keep iyswim?
i don't know really. I wish we had taken more photos of them, not sure about video though lol

i know someone who was filmed for homebirth diaries :D

I wish i could remember giving birth, was that out of it cant really remember anything so might have been nice to watch it back.

BUT what about poo and sick, swearing and be abusive these you might not want to watch again

Hi I would have loved to see it! i remember trying to crane my head to see what everyone else could see when they were crowning! Lol!
And I always get very emotional when watching those birth programmes, imagine seeing your own babies first moments! I know all the mess and not so glamourous bits but we are not talking about having a premier big screen showing! Its more the logisitcs of filming, cause I know that I would only want my hubby to film and in both my previous labours his presence was required at my side where I had a VERY firm grasp of him!!!!!

My boyfriend videoed the birth of my daughter. He did it spontaneously, I had no idea he was filming. I was in a birthing pool and he filmed from behind, so you can't see my face or bits, so it feels a bit more anonymous! And it is the most precious souvenir ever. If we had discussed before I would have said no way, but I'm really glad we now have the film.

I really, really wish we'd filmed DD2's homebirth. Not the gory end, but just us, Dp sitting calmly watching tv, the MW's chatting about random things, me mooing gently against the sofa. People find it hard to believe that birth can be so calm and painless and empowering, if nothing else the soundtrack of mine would prove this, and the actual film would be something I would love my children to have seen, but not the whole world because I was nekkid for most of it!!

Thanks for the comments- because i have watched so many baby programs(Home births, bringing home the baby etc) and im just amazed at the openess of all these women its a personal moment which has now been shared with millions
I am wondering would i be so brave, but think it would be lovely to capture the exact moment when my baby comes into this world, to share when older! maybe not with the masses though

yes. it is strange.

displayuntilbestbefore · 11/11/2009 16:41

I would not have liked mine taped - esp with sound

posieparker · 11/11/2009 16:45

I had sections and the two we filmed are just lovely to watch... only have their first few minutes and none of my body.... their first cries and breaths, just amazing.

Mama2b5 · 15/11/2009 09:30

I do believe if done tastefully and not all the gore and screams, it can be something that when baby grows can watch, when they came into the world and took first breath! still going to consider it, DH does filming and stuff so he has the skills to do it wonderfully he would be the only person i would trust to be there!

I have told DH absolutely no cameras in the delivery room whatsoever. It will also be going on my notes that if he sneaks one in it's to be removed.

I loathe having my photograph taken at the best of times but there is no way in the world that me either in labour or just after is going to be captured on any sort of permanent record !

mamasunshine · 15/11/2009 19:57

I wish we'd filmed ds2's homebirth. Just for me and DH to watch back as I don't remember everything!
