How many days late/DPO did you get the BFP?

Hello pregnant ladies!

Over on TTC we are all POASing far too early, on the grounds that 8DPO might be long enough to show a positive.... So I thought I'd ask the voices of experience - how many days late/DPO were you when you go the positive result? Or even better, if you tested early and got a negative, when did it turn positive?

I think I got a very verrrry faint like at 13dpo, so faint that I was doubting my eyes and dp was doubting my sanity. Then did it again at 14dpo and there was a very faint but more definite line (and a big "Pregnant" on a digital test)

I am currently pg with number 2.

I was 16 dpo before I got a BFP this time. I tested negative on 11dpo. Period was due 13dpo.

I got a BFP on the day AF was due last time, so I am guessing around 13dpo.

I can say this with the greatest of confidence as I have just consulted my spreadsheet. I do like a project!

I was 10 DPO with both. Also I had a neg with a Clearblue Dig, and a pos with a Tesco's cheapie. With the same pee!

I POAS at 12 dpo (it wasn't FMU though which was a naughty waste of a stick) and got a negative and then POAS'd on 15dpo and got a positive. They were both Clearblue digi's.

This was very restrained as earlier in my TTC career I would POAS at 8dpo, then I got sick of the disappointment/waste of dosh.

It was 3 days before my period was even due, but can't be sure about ovulation date! x

I have a cycle of between 30-35 days so I waited until day 36 before I tested. it was positive.

I'll never know if it would have been otherwise before but I just thought I would save myself a lot of money, heartache and time that way.

I was on my 3rd month of Clomid too.

Can I ask another question that those of us madly symptom spotting in the 2ww are dying to know...what were your earliest symptoms and how early did they start?

I had absolutely no symptoms this time, other than slight cramping, akin to period pains around the time AF was due. The only symptom I had was the lack of AF.

When I was pg with dd, my breasts were very sore and swollen in the week leading up to AF, but nothing other than that. MS didn't kick in in either pg until around 7 weeks.

Really annoying crampy stomach, like I had trapped wind, at 10 DPO.

Do you have any symptoms? God I used to love this speculation.

I got my BFP 4 days before my missed period - works out to be about 9 DPO i think as seems i ovulated early (around 10 days) due to my scans (had a few and all dates match).

I was TTC and felt exhausted after 2 mins into a spinning class i did weekly so jsut decided to give it a go with a very cheap tesco test!!! i was so shocked i had to call my friend to check what a positive was and even sent her a picture of it!!! Then did a few more tests .

Good luck to all of you TTC - it feels like it takes forever - now 1 week before due date and feel like i've been pg for 5 yrs!!!

Wishing you all the best - do the whole lying still without moving for about 20 mins after doing the deed too - it will happen

I tested 11 DPO and got a BFN, then tested 13 DPO (the day before AF was due) and got my BFP....

Am now 18 weeks along....

no symptoms other than... actually got a train london to liverpool on day before test and felt more travel sick than normal (do usually feel travel sick), so much so that had to ask for sick bag!

in a mission to save money (!) I gave all the tests I bought to DH on the instructions he was only allowed to give me one for FMU when AF was due.... cycles not totally regular, and actually waited until the day after I was expecting it on.

in my last pregnancy go BFN at 12 DPO but BFP at 14 DPO - so yes I suppose some people will test positive early but can't read too much into a BFN before AF is due... sorry,

This time I got a BFP 9 dpo but it took another 2 days and slightly darker lines b4 DH would believe what he was seeing.

Thanks all for the answers. Interesting, but at the same time annoying that there is such a variation! I was kinda hoping the majority would be 12+DPO to help me stop testing early! Oh well, let the madness continue.....

I was 13dpo and only got a very faint line, tested again at 16dpo and got a much stronger line. Hard as it may seem, the best thing you can do is wait till af is due if you have the will power and really want to save the cash (or shop on ebay).

My first pg symptom with dd (though I didn't know it) and this one which made me suspect was that I got out of breath really quickly, nothing else though until bfp and then they all came at once

Lottie - before yesterday I have only tested once and that was when I was a week late (positive but early m/c). However this month I'm feeling the need to know particularly strongly for some reason. I think it marks the shift from 'seeing what happens' to a somewhat more obsessive approach...

Plus, where I live tests are only about 40p each which hasn't helped my resolve...

I got a faint positive on an ebay cheapy at 11dpo with FMU. I then got a strong positive on a Clearblue+/- test later that afternoon and also a 'pregnant 1-2' on a CB Digital that evening.

I personally think the ebay tests are pretty awful - even 4 days later I was still only getting faint lines on them and they wouldn't appear until the 5 min time limit.

The only symptom I had was bad period cramps from CD21 onwards. I am now 6wks pregnant

I got a VERY faint positive on an internet cheapy at 10dpo, which was two days after an implantation dip on my chart. There was a lot of is it/isn't it, I thought for a while it was an evaporation line, it appeared way outside the suggested time limit and was really so faint, it was almost invisible! The thing that convinced me that it was a P (not very B or F) was that I did a control using tap water and there was no line at all. Re: symptoms, I had nothing until about six weeks, and was paranoid for ages that this was a bad sign. I'm now 7 +3 and I feel really sick.

With DS I tested on the day my period was due and it was negative. Tested two days later and it was positive. Not sure when ovulation was but it was 17 days after his conception .

With DD I tested one day before my period was due and it was positive. But I am sure I ovulated early that month as she was conceived on CD8.

Hi I am mum of 3 already and I have missed my AF which was due on 19th this month and I am 11 days later and I think my ovulation date was from the 5th till 8th oct this month so not sure but I have all pregnancy symptoms and I feel like I have sit on loo every 5 mins and iv got twinges and tingling so any help please would be nice but if I am pregnant I would be around 5 weeks
