well... according to the article if you avoid the coffee altogether and just have chocolate, you are still allowed 440 Gr a day of the stuff...(That's nearly a pound!)

Phewwwww, I can live with that

Ooooh! Eating chocolate leads to low birthweight?? If only I'd know that with my 2 pregnancies!!

FSA is a completely hopeless agency, IMHO (I write about food from time to time). That's my view and I'm sticking to it. We need the endorphin release!

I strong choclate cravings whilst pregnant. Two or three choclate bars everyday for last three months. Had bouncy 7lb 13oz boy. Not worried about choclate, or the occassional glass of wine or cigareete either. In fact, like parenting advice, pregnancy advice differs greatly form country to country

that's it.

stuff the lot of them - I'm going to take up smoking again and crack open a bottle of wine. No, vodka. I may even have a peanut or two.

Dark chocolate is a good source of iron! (I reckon that its down to the chocolate solids content so if you eat enough milk chocolate then you should get the same amount. Iron tablets upset my stomach so I just have to eat the chocolate - its that or guiness!

'They' can't do this to us - don't 'they' know that you need to eat chocolate in order to make milk? (ANY sort of milk!)

Lucy123, are you pregnant??? I missed the anouncement. Big congratulations to you and imo ypu should eat as much chocolate as you like. I gorged on it in my pregnancy and had a 9.5 lb baby.

I ate all the chocolate buttons someone gave my dd last night in protest. Chocolate isn't good for her, but it's damn good for me.

bunny2 - yes, just found out about it and still very early. Had to give up smoking in a hurry and caught a cold (there's a thread somewhere entitled feeling rubbish or something). Haven't got round to making a big announcement anyway (feeling supewrstitious, but too excited to keep totally quiet! )

Looking forward to my summer hols in the UK to stock up on "proper" chocolate. None of this bitter continental malarkey. Except those Kinder bars - must get some of them.
