period and pregnant-any good outcomes out there? Need some hope!!

I thought I started my period 5 days ago, but it was really light. I miscarried 4 months ago and had been having some irregular periods, but finally the last two cycles were perfectly normal. So this really light period took me by surprise and I called my doctor. After I left a message with his office saying there was something horribly wrong with me, for no other reason than instinct, I took a pregnancy test. It was positive. Called the doctor back and he drew blood for HCG and progesterone and both results came back in great. Problem is, I have still been bleeding like a light period. Sometimes it is pinkish, sometimes bright red. But it is very light, mostly only when I wipe and doesn't reach my knickers.
Anyone else out there had an experience similar with a happy outcome? I really need some hope to cling to here.

me again - I should have said 'bleeding and pregnant'... but anyway, point is, I have been bleeding since before I found out I was pregnant. Scared to death. Just want some happy stories so I can keep my chin up and not fall to pieces.

My bf had what she thought were periods for the first 3 mnths of her last pregnancy - which went fine. She said it didn't worry her as much when she found out she was pg as she had done something similar with her ds1. I also had some very light bleeding with my ds1. It is hard not to get scared esp if you have had a m/c. I tried to stay as calm as possible and lie down with feet up. I have no idea if that made any difference at all but I felt as if I were at least doing something iykwim.

I didn't believe I was pg at first because I had a very light period. Red with pink discharge as you describe. I'm now 34wks pg.

I had a very light (in volume and colour) bleed around the time my period was due. I'm assuming it was implantation bleeding. I also bled properly (with clots) around 9 weeks, had an internal scan, and baby was fine. I bled heavily again at 11 weeks. I think a lot of people bleed in early pregnancy. I'm now 23 weeks and all the scans have been fine. Good luck to you!
