Just wondering? Because today everytime I'm coughing my stomach gets so hard and it's really painful. can't stop coughing. Taking expigen (sp?) cough syrup but it's not helping. Can't think of lying down to sleep then I cough more. Sorry if TMI but almost everytime I cough I spit out phlegm.

Going to tell dragon boss old lady tomorrow that I'm going on maternity leave on Friday. please hold thumbs.

I don't think so.

You do need to take it easy as much as you can - I had a nasty cough at around 32/33 weeks and it took me 4 weeks to shift because my lungs were so squashed by the baby.

Try propping yourself up on loads of pillows to sleep, and also inhaling steam.

You can help to loosen all the phlegm by using the flat of your hands to rythmically pound on your upper chest / breast bone. Quite firmly and fairly fast. Do it for a couple of minutes (place a tea towel over your chest first if it makes it more comfy) and then have a good cough and a spit up. Don't swallow the phlegm whatever you do as it will slow down your recovery. You poor thing. lots of sympathy. Also - drinking fizzy water (cheapo own brand stuff is about 37pm a litre or something) can help to get rid of the tickle that sends you in to a coughing fit x

i am 23 weeks and have the same. my pelvic floor is getting a mega workout.
i have started on amoxicillin which has definitly helped with inflamation.

watch yourself doing chest physio it is really easy to hurt yourself if you don't know what you are doing.

GP assured me he had never heard of anyone coughing out their baby.
