high temp @ 38weeks..feelin strange

hi, im 38weeks pregnant & feelin bit rubbish!slightly sick, really tired with a temp of 39.5..even 40.1 this mornin.which is quite high i think?now ive become obsessed with checkin my temp since weve not long bought the thermometer!! ( 1st baby as u can probs tell!!) anyone else feel the same??dont wanna ring midwife, feel bit silly, also like im wastin their time coz im not really sure wot my symptoms are? any advice wud b great

Call the midwife or labour ward - you are never wasting their time. They would rather answer a hundred different silly questions than have someone feel they can't/shouldn't ask.

I think you need to ring them, they won't mind. It could be something or nothing if you see what I mean

Just tell them you have a high temp, if that's all you have...they will take it seriously because a high temp in pregnancy is always taken seriously. Not sure why but it is

a high temp can sometimes trigger labour and may be a sign of infection somewhere

give them a call - you won't be wasting their time

I had a very high temp at 35 weeks, turned out I had an infection and was severely dehydrated, I had to stay in overnight on a drip.

Was fine a few days later.

Let us know how you get on won't you. I will be worrying otherwise!

That IS a high temperature, what you'd call a fever. Do ring the midwife and do it tonight. It could be something simple like a bladder infection (you don't always get typical symptoms in pregnancy) or another infection.
You will not be wasting anybody's time. Get some RL advice and medical help tonight.

Oh, and take some paracetamol too and make sure you drink plenty of fluids.

thanks every1, got a midwfie apt 2moro mornin anyway..shud i just wait & tell her?ive been like this a few days already so perhaps 1more nite wont hurt?he's stil very active!!

Just as an example it might be an infection in where baby is, and you deffo don't want to leave that.

Good luck xx be ready with a bag of essentials if you feel up to it, in case they want you to go in - quite likely they will want you to pop up there for a bit of monitoring or just so they can see you.

well was waste of time really!!they said- drink lots of water, rest, see midwife 2moro. they werent 2 concerened coz ive got no aches or pains.oh and 2 take paracetamol. thanks every1!!x

ok - if your temp doesn't reduce though, i wouldn;t hesistate to call back even if it is in the middle of the night
