hand foot and mouth????? please help

i am 40+3 and saw my friend this wk end who has a 1yr old that has hand foot and mouth and i dont know if this will effect our unborn baby. my friend said the doc said that 2wks b4 the spots come out and 3wks after the spots have gone its is infectious. i dont know what to do should i ring my midwife or the doc. adults are carriers but it comes out in children

please help me i just need some one to tell me to stop worrying or ring the midwife

My son had this a while ago - it is a very mild virus. But ring the midwife for reassurance or you'll just worry if you are like me! They won't mind you ringing, it's what they are there for.
